Abla Volta, of Togolese origin, has known some success since the age of 18, when she won a prize in the first Togolese fashion competition in 1988. Having grown up in a world of dressmaking with a seamstress mother, she pursued her love of fashion by attending the Maitre Ajavon school in Lomé where she studied dress designing and dressmaking for three years.
She started selling her creations to a private clientele, then moved to Paris, France in 1990. She creates her own style which is original, creative and off the beaten track by mixing different fabrics and textures such as leather, lace, light weight knit..... in short, a feminine fashion with no limits.
